San Mamede do Castro

The church was donated to Carboeiro in the 12th century. Of a great beauty, it has a single nave and rectangular apse. On the front façade it has a flared semicircular window and entrance, with two pairs of monolithic columns and plant stem capitals. The elevated semicircular archivolt is decorated with checkered trims.

The flat tympanum on zoomorphic rabbets, the apse is supported by a barrel vault and semicircular triumphal arch on columns and capitals with chimerical zoomorphic figures. On the wall of the atrium may be seen the decorative elements of this Romanesque church and interesting corbels.
