Standard compliance and accessibility of this site. The web Turismo de Silleda aims that the presentation of all essential content and functionality of this site despite the type of physical devices and browsers used for this purpose, be encoded with technical standards that are free ,of open use and accessible to browsers adapted for people with motor or cognitive sensory limitations.

The content is in XHTML format - a combination of hypertext language, an open standard developed and recommended by the W3C,the Web Consortium.

The elements that comprise the content (images, text, structures, and links) are written in accordance to priority level A of W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

We employ style sheets (CSS,another W3C standard) to assign the presentation formats and to distribute on the pages the contents and links.

We recommend using the latest versions of browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Opera, Konqueror, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc...

The European Union, in the Council Resolution of 25 March 2002, encourages Member States to take into account the need for digital content to be accessible and, following this recommendation, the Law 34/2002 of 11 July services of the information society and e-commerce, provides that public authorities must take the necessary measures to make the information available on their websites accessible to the disabled and the elderly, in accordance to the criteria of accessibility to content generally recognized before 31 December 2005.

Constant with this aim, the website design of Turismo de Silleda was carried out taking into account the accessibility recommendations for the second priority level of WAI guidelines (Web Accessibility Initiative) of the W3C.
