Hiking

Hiking is a non-competitive sporting activity that takes place on country tracks between individuals to encourage their enjoyment of the sport itself, culture and as one would expect, the environment.

Silleda Council is lucky enough to have stunning natural surroundings; a heritage steeped in history and art above all Romanesque and Baroque, and a plethora of cultural and ethnographic examples that could only be offered in the most natural way possible, through walking and hiking.

This offering is priceless. An international long-distance footpath, declared of cultural interest, the south eastern way or Mozarabic Via da Prata. Two paths approved by the Galician Federation of Mountaineering, The Deza Path, PR-G 18, and the Water Route, PR-G 124, and several routes of a high cultural interest such as the Romanesque Route, the Saleta Path, The Castro de Toiriz and The Copa do Castro or trips that can take us to the three areas that make up the Natura 2000 network.
